The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has Approved The National Green Hydrogen Mission. The initial cost to fund this Mission is Rs.19,744 crore, comprising the expenditure of Rs.17,490 crore for the SIGHT program, Rs.1,466 crore for pilot projects, Rs.400 crore for R&D and an additional amount of Rs. 388 crores for various other Mission components. A policy framework for enabling policies is being developed to facilitate the creation of a Green Hydrogen ecosystem. A strong Standards and Regulations framework will be created. The concerned Ministry's departments, agencies, and institutions belonging to the Central or State Governments will implement focused and coordinated actions to ensure that they achieve the Mission's objectives.
